On June 3, 2016, associates from Lynchburg Nursing Center in Lynchburg, Tennessee, took part in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life.
The facility team of about 15 included associates and their families. The Moore County event had a Mardi Gras theme, so the Lynchburg Nursing Center participants dressed in pink and wore Mardi Gras-style masks.
The facility had a booth set up where walkers could stop and play ring toss for soda prizes. Associates also sold coffee at the booth.
“It was a great community event, and we were proud to participate,” said Stephanie Speegle, business development director.
“It was great to be a part of the community event!” said Annette Wells, activity director. “Lynchburg Nursing Center had a great turnout and lots of fun!”
Lynchburg Nursing Center had hosted several fundraisers leading up to the event, including a breakfast-to-go sale and selling tickets for a chance to win a gift basket. The team raised $800 for cancer research and treatment.
